History

Established in 2010.

Glenn Bowen is a Pitt County native, well-known for his years of experience in the firearm business. Glenn opened his first gun shop in 1960, in Ayden, NC, called "Glenn's Gun Shop". In 1972, Rev. Bruce Jones, of renowned BBQ restaurant "Skylight Inn", partnered with Glenn to open a new gun shop called "B & G Guns", located downtown Ayden. In 1995, Glenn sold B & G Guns and opened "'Doc's' Pawn & Guns" in Greenville, NC. In 2010, after years of successful gun and pawn business, Glenn opened a sister store in Winterville, NC. This store is known as "Colt's Guns & Pawn". Colt's is family owned and family operated.

Meet the Business Owner

D. Glenn Bowen Jr. is a Pitt County native, well-known for his years of experience in the firearm business. In 1960, he opened his first gun store called "Glenn's Gun Shop" in Ayden, N.C. In 1972, Glenn partnered with Rev. Bruce Jones to open a new gun shop called "B & G Guns", located downtown Ayden. In 1995, Glenn sold B & G Guns in Ayden and opened "'Doc's' Pawn & Guns" in Greenville, NC. After years of successful gun and pawn business at "Doc's", in 2010, Glenn opened a store in Winterville N.C. This store is known as "Colt's Guns & Pawn". Colt's is family owned and family operated.

In 2012, Glenn sold his interests in other businesses, so that he could solely spend his time at Colt's. Working with his family, Glenn looks over all gunsmith work. Glenn also travels locally and globally, buying, selling, and trading guns. Glenn is well respected for his years of experience and expertise in the firearm industry.
